Week IX: Trova Yucateca - Trovador/ Cenote/ Fuente

The history of Mexico is that of the relationship between of the Cenote y la Fuente. As the Spanish"discovered" (as I use that term loosely) Mexico in their time of conquest, they served as a deposit of amorphous oil, a fluid surge of culture and change, coercing its way into the pool of water that existed as the indigenous peoples of the land. From this flow beckoned the deluge of blood of the indigenous to be shed and intertwined with the fluids of change the Spanish represented. As this saturated blend continued to pour forth unto the basin that exists now as Mexico, we may see traces of the blood, oil, and water that exists as the amalgam of Mexican culture.
